Vision Aerial debuts a new industrial drone platform
[Bozeman, MT, February 17, 2026] – Vision Aerial Launches Vulcan Drone Line Built for Heavy-Duty Industrial Operations
Bozeman, MT — Vision Aerial today announced the launch of Vulcan, a new NDAA compliant industrial drone platform built on a new power and mechanical architecture designed for sustained real-world operations.
The Vulcan platform includes two models: Vulcan SX (medium-lift) and Vulcan YX (heavy-lift). Both aircraft share a common architecture that supports multiple payload types and extended flight times. The platform is optimized for LiDAR, mapping, inspection, and sensor deployment across energy, mining, infrastructure, photogrammetry, and public safety operations.
“Vulcan was engineered from the start to address the realities of every day operations,” said Shane Beams, Founder and CTO at Vision Aerial. “It’s a work platform, not a demo platform.”
The platform delivers:
Higher lift capacity while maintaining airspeed and flight efficiency
Improved stability and control authority in demanding flight envelopes
Integrated terrain following and collision avoidance for low-altitude, technical missions
Platform continuity that allows payloads and configurations to evolve without rip-and-replace cycles
“Vulcan isn’t a departure from who we are. It’s a refinement of the vision that built this company. Purpose-driven, mechanically deliberate, and designed for long-term industrial operations,” said Shawn Roberts, President and Chief Revenue Officer at Vision Aerial.
Shared Platform Capabilities
Radar for active terrain following and forward collision avoidance
RTK GNSS fully integrated
